Wolbachia is an obligatory intracellular bacterial gender which infects more than a half of known insects. In mosquitoes, that rickettsia induces cytoplasmic incompatibility between non infected oocyte and infected spermatozoon provoking non-viable offspring. Also, it has been proven that determined strains of transinfectedWolbachia are able to block, in some mosquitoes species, their capacity of pathogen transmissions. The effect provoked by this Wolbachia gender in their hosts can be used in vector control and pathogens, that´s way the importance of this study. However, the impossibility of its free culture, demand cell infected cultures with rickettsia as microorganism source. This article describes a cell line from Aedesalbopictusinfected with Wolbachia and its use as atool which allows the development of basic and applied researches in vector control
